3,600 Miles Later, The Bowl Opens & The Museum Takes Shape |
I'm back in town just in time for Redlands Bowl opening night, plus a look inside the new Museum of Redlands store |
From the Groves | ||
Why This Matters |
I just got back from a 3,600-mile road trip up to the Northwest. Liz and I drove everywhere from San Francisco to Ashland, Oregon, to Seaside, to Astoria, up to Seattle, back down to Sacramento, and finally back home to Redlands.
We got back on Wednesday, which is why this newsletter is hitting your inbox a few hours late.
As beautiful as it was up there, I was completely shocked by how hot it was. I'll be honest, I'm super happy to get back into Redlands with the nice cool weather and the low 80s.
We've got a massive weekend ahead. The Redlands Bowl opens its 103rd season tonight, the new Museum of Redlands is making moves, and Juneteenth takes over Sylvan Park tomorrow.
Let's get into it. |

🏛️ COMMUNITY SPOTLIGHTThe Museum of Redlands Takes Shape
I had a request this week to talk about the new Museum of Redlands (MOR) and the Museum Store. Located right inside the museum building at 1 N Center Street, the store is open Wednesdays and Thursdays from 1:00 to 5:00 PM. They've got unique gifts, work from local artists, historically themed books, and custom floral services. 🎶 REDLANDS BOWLThe 103rd Season Opens Tonight
The longest continuously running free summer music festival in the United States is back. The Redlands Bowl opens its 103rd season tomorrow, Friday, June 19, at 8:00 PM. They're kicking off the summer with the Yacht Rock Symphony, featuring Ambrosia and John Ford Coley. If you want a seat on the benches, you know the drill—get there early and drop your blanket. Otherwise, bring your lawn chairs and grab a spot on the grass. The season runs every Tuesday and Friday night through August 14. One last thing before I let you go. It feels good to be back from 3,600 miles on the road, but there's nothing quite like coming back to a city that's firing on all cylinders. If you only do one thing this weekend, get down to the Bowl tomorrow. → Redlands Bowl Opening Night — Redlands Bowl, Friday June 19 at 8:00 PM That's everything for this week.
